About Mrs. Lawson

Hello! I’m Mrs. Lawson and I teach the Primary Behavior Skills classroom here at Catlin. This is my second year of teaching and I can’t wait to get started. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Special Education from UNO. My favorite things about Primary Behavior Skills is getting to connect with each of my students and learning from them. I also love reading stations, math games and Friday Fun Days! It’s going to be an amazing year with fun and adventures. We will read, write and make new friends. We even have some class pets! This year will be lots of fun but there will also be some hard work ahead of us. But together I think we can do some amazing things!!

About the Behavior Skills Program

The Behavior Skills Program (BSP) serves students in the Omaha Public Schools District who need a structured classroom setting with behavior supports in order to be successful in the school setting. Within the BSP classroom our students are taught grade level curriculum, and receive interventions for any IEP goals they may have. The BSP program’s goal is to create a positive atmosphere for students to learn social and self regulation skills so that they may be successful in the mainstream classroom. We take a special interest in each student and celebrate their successes. Our philosophy is, our students don’t interrupt our teaching, they are the reason for our teaching.
