Cold Weather and Outdoor Recess

As the seasons change, the temperature drops.  Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for Catlin's daily outdoor recess.  Catlin students will have outdoor recess as long as the temperature is above twenty degrees.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Roundup was held at Catlin on January 14, 2017. If you, or someone you know has a child that will be 5 years old as of July 31st, please call the office, 697-0414, so we can register them.

You must register your kindergartner in your home attendance area school based upon your residential address. If you have any questions, please contact your home school.

Help for Families

Through the generosity of the Sherwood Foundation, Catlin has the ability to help students and families in need.  We have already been able to provide food and coats for some. If you find yourself in need of assistance, please know that you may contact the principal, Mr. Piechota, or Mrs. Feldhacker, our school counselor, for either direct help or maybe a connection to the type of help you need.  402-697-0414

Moving or Thinking of Moving?

If your residency plans involve a move and you would like to remain at Catlin, please contact the school office prior to making the move.  Address changes are often something that we can work with to keep your child at Catlin.  When it involves transportation for the current school year or coming school year, more is involved if that is to continue.  If you move during the month of June and currently have a student riding a bus, you need to provide proof of address to the district before the end of June to be routed for the 2015-2016 school year.

Grateful for an OPS teacher? Put it in writing.

Teachers are the ones who help us learn and push us to succeed.  So why not take a moment out of your day to say thank you?  Nominate an Omaha Public School teacher for the Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award.  For more than 20 years, this award has been given to OPS teachers who have gone above and beyond to help their students in the classroom and in life.  Now you have the chance to give that teacher the recognition today at http://buffettoutstandingteachers.org/.
